Upcoming Episode “Lesson Zero” (S02E03)

By KzKsM

Air date: October 15, 2011, 13:00 UTC (9 a.m. EDT)

Livestreams and downloads in this EqD post.

Synopses:
  • Twilight gets anxious when she loses something she wanted to include in a letter to the princess. (tvguide.com)
  • Hyper-organized Twilight panics when she can’t find a lesson about friendship for her weekly letter to Princess Celestia. (Equestria Daily)
  • As the time approaches for hyper-organized Twilight to write her weekly letter to Princess Celestia, she panics and frantically searches high and low for a good lesson about friendship, but nothing seems to be going right. (AT&T U-Verse via FiM Wiki)

Jayson Thiessen, when asked for a hint for the episode, possibly as a riddle, answered “Tick-tock, time’s running out.”

Update: After only a few hours, the almost 400 ratings (on EqD) averaged 5.0, the comment count had reached 1000, and Seth had awarded the episode the epithet “best episode ever.” Seconded.

After so much epicality now to a minor animation mistake: A third alicorn has joined the canon, though it may be an imaginary one. Unfortunately, I have no idea who is to be credited with noticing this, the only info being that “somepony on Tumblr found this” (at 15:52 UTC by Saethwr on Ponychan). I’ll update when I find out. It says “Pluto” on the original image (a cropped version of the shot below), so it’s Celestia, Luna, and Pluto now. (Pluto is the name of a filly with identical design—except for the horn—who is present at Diamond Tiara’s cute-ceañera in Call of the Cutie.)

Update n+1: Of course it didn’t take long for an Ask Pluto Tumblr to pop up.

Update n+2: The similarly named saethwrthedragon on Tumblr reposted the same image they (probably) posted on Ponychan from fishermanoftheponynet’s Tumblr. This image was posted at “7:35 AM.” Since the HTTP header of the image says “Last-Modified: Sat, 15 Oct 2011 14:35:58 GMT,” that’s probably “7:35 AM PDT.” (Why, by Celestia, doesn’t it just say so? Or why aren’t they using UTC?) So that’s probably the source I was looking for.

Update 2011-10-24 04:56Z: Throwawaytv, founder of the FiM wikisaid they had witnessed alicorn Pluto being discussed on /co/ even before 14:35Z. Oh, and before I forget: “When I was your age, Pluto was a pegasus.”
